Wall facing

MAURESTA

Wall facing for the lamination of L-bricks and walls

The classic method used in gardening and landscaping to support different heights or to create raised beds and earth retaining walls is the installation of concrete L-stones or formwork walls. Both can be installed quickly and inexpensively in the garden or in public places, but has the disadvantage that later the bare concrete wall is visible. Those who want more charm in the open space can combine the practical with the aesthetic:

With the innovative and proven wall facing system MAURESTA made of high-quality metal, the quickly erected walls can be faced to create the appearance of a solid wall made of Corten steel or stainless steel. Existing walls that have become unsightly over the years can also be elegantly concealed and given the appearance of a solid metal wall.

The advantage of the MAURESTA system: the wall facing can be installed by any garden and landscape contractor in an uncomplicated and quick manner and is much more cost-effective in relation to earth retaining walls made of solid metal. MAURESTA is designed so that no screws are visible after assembly.

Not only straight L-stone walls or masonry panels can be concealed with Corten steel or stainless steel facings. Curves or special elements can also be made to measure. In this way, very individual walls or raised beds are created that blend harmoniously into the surroundings and also give existing gardens or parks a new look.

Basic elements of the wall facing

The elements for facing existing walls are made to order according to template sketch. As a standard we have straight and corner elements in our assortment, which are custom-made in length and height. The scope of delivery includes the C-strips, washers and screws. Fixing dowels are not included, but can be ordered separately.

Technique and details

of the MAURESTA elements

The structure of the facing elements is very simple: a stable C-rail is screwed onto the L-bricks. The MAURESTA elements are hooked into the C-rail, plugged together positively and then screwed from behind.

Advantages of the wall facing

MAURESTA compared to other systems

  • MAURESTA is the inexpensive alternative to earth retaining walls TERRA PALA and raised beds TERRESTA made of solid metal.
  • Simple logistics: In the first step, the L-brackets are set as stock items by the building materials dealer. Measurement and customization of the cladding will be done later, if necessary. even after the completion of earthworks.
  • Easy installation with prefabricated facing elements that are precisely matched to the existing wall.
  • The structural analysis of the earth retaining wall is not required, as suitable masonry units or L-brackets are used depending on the load case, for which a structural analysis is usually available.
  • Since the facing is installed with a rear ventilation gap, Corten steel does not create a waterlogging problem.
  • No screws visible from the front.

Gartenmetall® offers different systems that can also be used as retaining walls or raised beds. Learn more in our comparison of systems: >> > Comparison of earth retaining wall or raised bed systems.
